Rylee is a psychology major from American Fork, UT. She has also lived in Denali, AK and in Los Angeles, CA where she served a church mission and learned Spanish. She is passionate about music, rock climbing, backpacking, friends, family, and helping others. Rylee is looking forward to learning more about research through Project MEDIA, and how it can be used to benefit the lives of others.

Sylvia is a psychology major from St. George, Utah. She wants to go to graduate school for school psychology. She hopes to help children who have a harder time with learning in school and their mental health. In her free time, Sylvia enjoys playing ultimate frisbee, running, and exploring the Southern Utah deserts.

Madeleine Meldrum

Madeleine is from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, although she has lived in five states and two countries during her life. She is studying Sociology with the goal of becoming a professor, and she loves learning about people and what makes them tick! Madeleine can often be found taking a long walk with a good podcast, making soup, and hanging out with her siblings and friends.

Lauren is a Junior studying Family Life and Human Development at Brigham Young University. She grew up in Eugene, Oregon, where she learned to love hiking, mountains, and kind people. Lauren has the desire to become an Occupational Therapist in order to help youth with developmental disabilities, such as Autism. She is passionate about mental health and the impacts of media; in addition, she loves interacting with children. Lauren is beyond thrilled to become a part of Project M.E.D.I.A to gain experience and contribute to such a wonderful program.

Janna is from Sutter Creek, California and is one of eight children. She is a junior at BYU studying psychology and plans to get a master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy after graduating from BYU. She is very interested in children, marriage, and the institution of the family, and is excited to get involved with Project M.E.D.I.A. In her free time, she likes to bake, read, and chat with friends and family.

Taylor Fagan

Taylor is a senior studying psychology with a particular interest in family relationships. With her own family, she enjoys road trips and cooking together in the kitchen. Taylor's passion for working with kids has previously involved her leading summer camps as well as instructing a high school class to help students develop successful academic skills. She loves Colorado for both its beautiful scenery as well as its many fun shops and activities!

Brynn Pyper

Brynn is a psychology major with minors in music and family life. After growing up in Rexburg, ID, she considers herself an expert on snow and cold weather and is grateful for the mild winters outside of Southeastern Idaho. She hopes to someday work as a licensed anxiety and depression counselor and plans on earning a PhD in Clinical Psychology within the next few years studying comorbid anxiety and depression. She dreams of taking her friends and family back to the rich, green land of the Midwest where she served her mission to stay up late watching the fireflies come out.

Isaac is from Eagle Mountain, Utah, and is currently a sophomore studying psychology. Isaac plans to pursue a Ph.D. in counseling psychology to become a therapist for LGBTQ youth. He loves anything outdoors, ranging from mowing the lawn to backpacking to remote locations. In addition, he is an avid lover of Taylor Swift (top .001% of listeners) and fully plans on meeting her one day. Isaac is beyond excited to join Project M.E.D.I.A and cannot wait to conduct research in Denver!

Chance is from El Paso, Texas and is currently a Junior at BYU studying Family Studies with the plan of getting a master’s degree in social work and becoming a LCSW. In most of his free time, you can find Chance yoyoing with one of his MANY yoyos. He also loves coordinating colors, cooking, playing the saxophone, and making people laugh. He is excited to start this journey with the Project M.E.D.I.A. team this year!

Elsie Clayton hails from Hancock County, Illinois. She is currently a senior majoring in Family Life with a Family Studies emphasis and minoring in World Dance. Elsie has spent much of her life working with children and is beyond excited to be a part of Project M.E.D.I.A. She loves the word bucket, dinosaurs, and long walks on the beach.

Emily is from Billings, Montana and is studying psychology. She will attend graduate school to become a school psychologist after receiving her bachelor’s degree. Emily enjoys working with children and forming new connections with others because everyone has a unique story to tell. When Emily has free time, she loves taking long road trips with friends and family, learning about other languages and cultures, listening to Irish music, and crocheting. She is excited to learn from and contribute to Project M.E.D.I.A this summer.

Ellie is a sophomore at BYU majoring in family studies. She was born and raised in Sandy, Utah and loves music, movies, and the mountains. She is undecided about her future career path but is considering marriage and family therapy. She looks forward to someday raising a family of her own using what she has learned in her studies. Ellie is passionate about the research Project M.E.D.I.A. is doing, and she is so excited to be an integral part of it.

Abel Huskinson

Abel Huskinson is a Junior studying Sociology and Political Science at BYU. He is from Bixby, Oklahoma, and misses the sod fields of his youth. Abel is interested in demography and social policy. He intends to study Sociology in graduate school and obtain a PhD in Sociology/Demography. His current research explores alternative measures of proving racial intent in the context of U.S. felon disenfranchisement. Abel loves pickleball, escape rooms, and public transportation.

Natalie grew up in Idaho Falls, Idaho and is a senior studying Human Development with a minor in gerontology. Once she graduates from BYU, she plans to complete an occupational therapy graduate program. In her free time, she loves to crochet, listen to audiobooks, play her guitar and sing, paint, run, cook, play games, watch movies, and do anything outdoors. Natalie is passionate about helping families and individuals thrive in life and is excited to participate in the research for Project Media this summer.

Kassidy recently finished her degree in Psychology and will be starting a masters of Marriage and Family Therapy in the fall. This is her third year on Project MEDIA, and she couldn’t be happier to be back in Denver! She loves being able to work with the families and be involved in the research process. When she’s not working or studying, Kassidy loves the outdoors, singing, drawing, and watching videos of baby ducks.

Zack grew up in rural Winnemucca, Nevada. He is studying Psychology and Economics and plans to go onto graduate school studying some combination of the two. Behavioral Economics is of particular interest to him because it’s the perfect combination of using Psychology to better understand Economics. Since he grew up with five younger siblings and has tons of experience with children, Zack is very excited to have the opportunity to continue to participate in Project M.E.D.I.A. this summer.
